Cleanings and Checkups

Regular cleanings and check-ups are the best way to assure the health of your teeth and gums. The links between gum disease and heart disease continue to be explored, and research suggests that gum disease may lead to heart disease in susceptible individuals.

All of the experts suggest brushing three times a day and flossing at least once a day provides optimum health for gum tissue. Cleanings are required whenever calculus builds up, as often as every two months on some people! So many of our patients at All Smiles understand the value of healthy gums and are having their teeth cleaned three and four times a year. If you have dental insurance, two of the cleanings are free and the other two cost very little to assure your mouth is as healthy as possible.

When Needed, we offer soft tissue management.

Soft tissue management means getting and keeping gums and supporting tissues healthy so that they can help maintain patients' teeth throughout their lives. Laser Decay Detection Technology Now Available

We are proud to introduce the DIAGNOdent® to our patients. This technological breakthrough utilizes laser technology to detect early decay. This device provides both a visual and auditory cue to alert your dentist that there is decay present.

Since disease and decay are a constant threat to the health of your teeth and gums, the DIAGNOdent® provides added assurance that decay, caused by bacteria, will be detected early and enables our dentists to treat the decay when it is least invasive. It is particularly helpful in detecting decay under old restorations such as fillings or crowns.

For those technically interested clients:

• The DIAGNOdent® operates at a wavelength of 655mm. At this specific wavelength, clean and healthy tooth structure exhibits little or no fluorescence, resulting in very low scale readings on the display. However, carious tooth structure will exhibit fluorescence proportional to the degree of decay, resulting in elevated readings on the display of the DIAGNOdent®. An audio signal allows the dentist to hear changes in the scale values, and pinpoint decay.

Lasers offer Treatment with No Shots

All Smiles has two Waterlase lasers for repairing teeth without pain. So no shots are needed! Naturally, if your tooth already hurts, or it needs a lot of work we can numb it up with new modern anesthetics that numb it every time!
