At All Smiles in Lake Jackson, we understand that everyone wants a brighter smile. We also know that most people don’t have the time or patience to spend hour upon hour out of their evenings wearing strips or whitening trays.

Fortunately, those are not the only options for teeth whitening and Day White® or Nite White offer convenient ways to achieve a brighter smile in a fraction of the time, and for a fraction of the cost of other teeth whitening treatments.

The Benefits of Take-Home Teeth Whitening

Time is precious. Whether you are a student, parent, busy professional, or combination of any of these, you probably don’t have a lot of free time to whiten your teeth. Take-home teeth whitening makes it possible to achieve a brighter smile without disrupting your schedule.

Whitening can be done at home, while driving your car, in the office, or while you get ready for bed with Day White or while you sleep with Nite White. As your teeth become whiter, your confidence will grow and you will exude a healthier appearance. This has a positive effect that extends into every aspect of your overall health and well-being.

The Day White® and Nite White Difference

In addition to lower cost and ease of use, these simple to use products rely on non-abrasive methods to remove stains from teeth. Coupled with the gentle formula within the whitening gel, this reduces the risk of damaging enamel and causing inflammation to the gums.

The results also last longer than many bleaching solutions which can begin to wear off immediately after use of the product is discontinued.

How Do They Work to Whiten Teeth?

With Day White®, patients apply the whitening gel to their teeth twice daily using custom-made dental trays. These remain in place for 5-10 minutes for a 9.5% solution or 15 minutes at a time for 14% solutions. We recommend patients rinse their mouths and the trays out after each use. The system gently and gradually whitens the teeth at the rate of approximately one shade per day.

Nite White features a gentler whitening gel with custom-made dental trays that are worn at night while the patient sleeps.

Are Day White® and Nite White safe and affordable?

These products use low concentrations of hydrogen peroxide and Amorphous Calcium Phosphate to remove stains from deep within the teeth. These elements are safe and will not harm healthy teeth or gums. They are considerably less expensive than laser treatments and other teeth whitening solutions.

Is Teeth Whitening Permanent?

Whitening will not keep your teeth white forever and the effects can last from a few months to a few years after the treatment. Drinking coffee or tea, smoking, and eating foods such as berries or other foodstuffs that contain staining tannins will darken your teeth.

While brushing immediately after eating these foods will help prolong the effects, many people choose to reapply whiteners every few months or so to keep their pearly whites as shiny as possible.

Will the Solutions Whiten Veneers, Crowns, and Fillings?

Veneers, crowns, and fillings can’t be whitened by a whitening solution. Whether they are amalgam, ceramic, or zirconia, the materials that are used to manufacture them are, as the saying goes, set in stone.

However, veneers, crowns and fillings can be replaced to match your new, bright smile. The doctors and staff at All Smiles can discuss this with you and help you determine whether that is the best option for your smile and the health of your teeth.
